The County Executive is the chief executive officer of the county. The executive is generally given full responsibility for the total operation of all departments in the county.
Any candidate for election as County Executive shall be an elector of the County at the time of filing of the declaration of candidacy, shall be nominated and elected in the manner provided for county officers by general law and this Charter and during the entire term of office shall remain an elector of the County. The County Executive shall not, except as authorized by the Council, hold or accept other employment or public office.
Filing Requirements
$80 fee, 50 signatures (major party candidates), 25 signatures (minor party candidates). 25 signatures or fewer (independent candidates, will be 1% of number of votes cast in county for last general election for governor or 25, whichever is smaller)
