The City Charter Commissioner is a member of the Commission that oversees the review of the city charter, makes recommendations for changes, and drafts a new charter.

Eligibility Requirements
Candidate must be at least 18 years of age by the time of election, a resident of the city/village for at least 1 year immediately prior to election, and a registered voter in the city/village. Candidate must be an attorney admitted to practice in the state.
Filing Requirements
Filing fee: $45. Petition signature requirement: 50 signatures for major party candidates, 25 for minor party candidates. Requirement for independent party candidates is based on number of votes cast in last general election for governor: if < 5000, 25 or a number = 5% of the vote (whichever is less); if > 5000, number = 1% of the vote.
