The Mayor is the chief executive officer of the municipality. They often preside over council meetings and may have the power to hire and fire heads of municipal departments.
Must be a registered voter in Seaside and shall have resided in the City during the 12 months immediately before being appointed to office; may not be a city employee unless the position is substantially voluntary in nature; may only be a candidate for one position in a single election
Filing Requirements
File form SEL 101 and file by petition with at least 20 signatures of Seaside electors with form SEL 121 (must be approved before circulating) [note: all signatures must be numbered and verified by the city elections official and filed with SEL 338]
