Eligibility Requirements

qualified electors (registered voters) who have lived in the City continuously for one full year by the time of the election

Filing Requirements

The completed Form SEL 101 Filing of Candidacy for Nonpartisan Nomination is required to start the process. Upon submittal of this form to City Hall, the candidate will be assigned a Candidate/Petition I.D. number and given a SEL121 Petition for Non-partisan Nomination Signature to be signed by at least 10 Durham registered voters. When the candidate is ready to submit the SEL 101 and SEL 121 for review and verification, a SEL 338 Petition Submission - Candidate, Voters' Pamphlet is submitted.
