Job description
This District or Circuit Court Judge is responsible for adjudicating cases in Civil and Criminal Courts at the trial-level.
Eligibility requirements
Must be licensed to practice law in Alabama, and have resided in the circuit in which the candidate seeks to serve for at least one year prior to the election. Must have been licensed by the Alabama State Bar Association or any other state bar association for a combined total of 5 years or more. Must be under the age of 70 years of age upon the date of election. Must not have been convicted of a crime punishable by imprisonment in the state or federal penitentiary.
