Job description
State Senators are members of the state's upper chamber, as part of the state's bicameral legislature. State senators are responsible for voting on: bills related to public policy matters, levels for state spending, raises or decreases in taxes, and whether to uphold or override gubernatorial vetoes.
Eligibility requirements
Must be a qualified elector, a U.S. citizen, an Arkansas resident for 2 years preceding election, a resdident of district to be represented for 1 year preceding election, at least 25 years old, lawfully registered to vote, must not hold any other office, must never have been convicted of embezzelment of public money, bribery, forgery, or other infamous crime
