Job description
The County Courts shall have exclusive original jurisdiction in all matters relating to county taxes, roads, bridges, ferries, paupers, bastardy, vagrants, the apprenticeship of minors, the disbursement of money for county purposes, and in every other case that may be necessary to the internal improvement and local concerns of the respective counties.
Eligibility requirements
Qualified judges shall be at least twenty-five years of age, a citizen of the United States, a person of upright character, of good business education, and a resident of the State for two years before the election; and a resident of the county at the time of the election; and must never have been convicted of embezzlement of public money, bribery, forgery, or other infamous crime.

Filing requirements: Filing fee is set by the party county committee (party candidates). Petition signature requirements: 3% of the qualified electors in the county or township in which the candidate seeks office, based upon the total number of votes cast for Governor in that county or township at the last election, but in no event shall more than 2,000 signatures (independant candidates).
