The Flood Control District provides regional flood hazard identification, regulation, remediation, and education to County residents so that they can reduce the risk of injury, death, and property damage from flooding, while still enjoying the natural and beneficial values served by floodplains. The Board of Directors exercises all the powers and duties in the acquisition and operation of District properties, contracting, and regulatory functions as ordinarily exercised by governing bodies.
Eligibility requirements
Five members shall be resident taxpayers and qualified electors of the district, at least three of whom shall be residents of the cities in the district. At least one of the board members who are residents of cities shall be a resident of the largest city in the district.
