Job description

The Streets and Parks Commissioner is responsible for maintenance, improvements, replacements, additions, use and other matters related to streets, alleys, sidewalks, parks, swimming pools, tree programs, and other recreation programs

Eligibility requirements

Each member shall be a registered voter residing within the community or subregional area

Filing requirements: Filing fee is 1% of the annual salary of the office (unless said salary is $2500 or less, for which office there is no filing fee). Petition signature requirement is 20-40 (or 10-20 if filing in a county or district with fewer than 150 voters; if filing via petition in lieu of fee in a county or district with 2000 voters or more: three signatures of registered voters for each dollar of the filing fee, or 7 percent of the total of registered voters in the district in which he or she seeks nomination; if filing via petition in lieu of fee in a county or district with fewer than 2000 voters: three signatures of registered voters for each dollar of the filing fee, or 14 percent of the total of registered voters in the district in which he or she seeks nomination, whichever is less)
