Job description
The Mayor shall be the executive of the City and shall preside at meetings of the City Council, but shall have no vote except in case of a tie. The Mayor shall execute on behalf of the City all agreements, contracts, bonds, deeds, leases and other documents authorized by City Council necessary to be executed subject to Section 3.01(d) herein. The Mayor or his/her designee shall countersign all orders, checks and warrants authorized by City Council; and shall have all and every power conferred and perform the duties imposed upon him/her by this Charter and the ordinances of the City. Eligibility requirements
Candidate must be a citizen of the United States of America, a bona fide resident of the City of Milford and has continuously resided therein for a period of 2 years preceding the day of the election, is over the age of 18 years prior to the day of the election, has not been convicted of a felony, submits a criminal background check of the person's entire criminal history record from the State Bureau of Identification, and is nominated therefore, as hereinafter provided. - Milford Charter - 4.06a - http://charters.delaware.gov/milford.shtml
