Eligibility requirements
To be eligible for election or appointment to the board, a person shall be a citizen of the United States, shall be a registered voter as provided in the Election Code, shall have been a resident of the city and, if applicable, the electoral district, for at least one year immediately preceding his or her election or immediately preceding his or her election or appointment, and shall not be a child sex offender as defined in Section 11-9.3 of the Criminal Code of 2012. A person is ineligible for election or appointment to the board if that person is an employee of the school district.
