Job description
The Land Commissioner is responsible for managing tax forfeited land in the County, wildlife management, agriculture and gravel leases, easements pursuant to a comprehensive forest management plan, and coordinating management with state and federal resources management agencies.
Eligibility requirements
Candidate must be a United States citizen, must be a registered voter in the county, must be a resident within the district for at least 1 year, a land commissioner or director cannot serve as a school trustee or school treasurer, and is not a child sex offender as defined in Section 11-9.3 of the Criminal Code of 2012.
