Job description
This Local Court Judge is responsible for adjudicating small claims cases designed to help parties who do not have attorneys resolve their disputes quickly and inexpensively. Small claims judges can only award money judgments up to $10,000.
Eligibility requirements
Candidate must be a United States citizen upon taking office. Candidate must be a registered voter and resident of the county for at least 1 year or have been elected to the small claims court judge position before 1999, be of high moral character and reputation, be licensed to practice law in the State of Indiana, and not have been convicted of a felony.
