Job description

Local Court Judges are responsible for adjudicating cases in civil and criminal courts at the trial-level, such as small-claims court or drug court.

Eligibility requirements

Candidate must be registered to vote in the county in which the municipality is located by the filing deadline. Cannot be convicted and sentenced of, nor have plead guilty or nolo contendere to any felony charges (unless it has been pardoned, reversed, vacated, set aside, the guilty plea unaccepted by jury, or expunged under state law). Cannot be an active-service member US armed forces. Must be must be an attorney in good standing admitted to the practice of law in Indiana.
