This District or Circuit Court Judge is responsible for adjudicating cases in Civil and Criminal Courts at the trial-level.
Eligibility requirements
Candidate must be a citizen of the U.S. and Maryland, and registered to vote in State elections. Candidate must have resided in the State for at least 5 years and in the geographic area where the vacancy exists for at least 6 months next preceding appointment. Candidate must be at least 30, must retire at age 70, be a member of the Maryland Bar, and be "most distinguished for integrity, wisdom and sound legal knowledge."
