Job description
The County Public Defender provides legal services and representation to individuals who have been accused of a crime that carries the potential for jail or prison time and cannot afford to retain private counsel.
Eligibility requirements
A candidate for any County Office must be at least 18 years of age and a resident and voter in the electoral district which the candidate seeks to represent as of the date that the candidate files nomination petitions in the year of the election.
Submit paperwork to the Maine Secretary of State's office.
