Job description
The treasurer has custody of all money, bonds other than official bonds filed with the clerk, mortgages, notes, leases, etc. belonging to the village. They receive all money belonging to/receivable by the corporation, keep an account of all receipts and expenditures, collect and keep an account of all taxes and money appropriated, raised, or received for each fund of the village and keep a separate account of each fund, pay check disbursement authorizations, and perform duties related to assessing property and levying taxes.
Eligibility requirements
Candidates must be a qualified elector in the village in which they are seeking election and must not be in debt to the village.
