Job description

The State Supreme Court is responsible for correcting the errors of the inferior state courts. It exclusively hears appeals on legal issues from inferior state courts.

Eligibility requirements

A candidate must be eligible to vote in Minnesota and have maintained residence in their district for at least 30 days before the general election. Candidates must be between 21-70 years of age. Candidates must be licensed to practice law in MN, and must have not filed for any other office at the upcoming primary or general election.

Filing requirements: Filing fee: $300 or 2000 signatures in Petition in Place of Filing Fee. Candidates must also submit an affidavit of candidacy to the Secretary of State, or to the county auditor of the county in which the candidate resides.
