Job description
The County Auditor is the chief accountant for the county. County Auditor duties include preparing and administering accounting records for county funds, overseeing audits of county departments, and regulating the budget.
Eligibility requirements
US citizen. At least 21 years old. Resident of Missouri for one year prior to person's election ; Resident of county three months prior to person's election. Not in arrears for Any taxes, lien, forfeiture, or defalcation in office, municipal user feed. Must never have been convicted, found guilty, or plead guilty to a felony or misdemeanor under the federal laws of the United States. Have no outstanding campaign disclosure reports due from any prior elections. He shall also be a person familiar with the theory and practice of accounting by education, training and experience and able to perform the duties

Filing requirements: Show Identification; Complete the Form 5120 Candidate's Affidavit of Tax Payments for the Department of Revenue; Complete the Notice to Candidate Personal Financial Disclosure for the Missouri Ethics Commission; File a Declaration of Candidacy; and Submit a $50.00 filing fee (cash or check) payable to the County Central Committee for the State or Party in which they are filing. Independent candidates must further submit a petition with a number of signatures equal to at least 2% of the total number of voters who voted at the last election for candidates for the office being sought (or 10,000 whichever is less).
