Job description

The Parks and Recreation District board member is responsible for overseeing park and recreation operations within the district.

Eligibility requirements

A person shall be eligible to the office of city commissioner if he or she is a qualified voter of the city and a resident of the city for at least 9 months preceding the election. (NDCC SS 40- 13-01).

Filing requirements: Candidates for city offices must file petitions/Certificates of Nomination containing the signatures of qualified electors equal to not less than 10% of the number of qualified voters who voted for that office in the last city election, however not more than 300 are required. The number of signatures required for the Park Board Commissioner is 202. The Park District has requested, in the past, that more than 300 valid signatures are obtained to allow for those which are invalid for various reasons.
