The City Charter Commissioner is a member of the Commission that oversees the review of the city charter, makes recommendations for changes, and drafts a new charter.
Eligibility requirements
Must be at least 18 years of age // U.S. citizen // Must have lived in the municipality for at least one year // Must be a registered voter in the municipality // Must be without debt or other financial obligations to the municipality // Must be without felony convictions or other injurious criminal activity
Paperwork instructions: Submit paperwork to the municipal clerk's office (for party candidates); submit paperwork to the county clerk's office (for independent candidates).
Filing requirements: No Filing Fee. Petition signature requirement: 5% of the total votes cast in district by political party in the last primary election for general assembly (party candidates); 2% of the total votes cast in the district in the last general election for general assembly (independent candidates)
