Job description

The New York State Comptroller is a state cabinet officer of the U.S. state of New York and head of the New York state government's Department of Audit and Control. The duties of the comptroller include: auditing government operations, operating the state's retirement system, reviewing the New York State and City budgets, approving state contracts and administering the State Oil Spill Fund when needed.

Eligibility requirements

Must be at least 30 years old, a U.S. citizen, and a New York resident for the 5 years next preceding the election.
