Job description
The District Courts are the trial courts of general jurisdiction in Oklahoma. The courts have unlimited original jurisdiction in both civil and criminal cases. In addition, certain administrative decisions may be reviewed as a result of statutory provision.
Eligibility requirements
Candidate for Associate district judge must be a registered voter and lived in the appropriate county for at least 6 months prior to the first day of the filing period, and must be a licensed attorney in Oklahoma and have a minimum of two years of experience in Oklahoma as a licensed practicing attorney or as a judge of a court of record, or a combination thereof.
