The County Health Department Director is responsible for managing public health care programs and organizations in the county. Additionally, they are responsible for developing and allocating budgets, holding hearings related to public health issues, designing and monitoring emergency response plans, and deliver reports to the public health board of directors.

Applicant must be 18-years-old, have resided continuously in the state for 12 months and in the territory from which the office is elected for six months immediately preceding the following date, a united states citizen who has not been finally determined mentally incapacitated or partially mentally incapacitated without the right to vote by a court with probate jurisdiction nor been finally convicted of a felony from which the candidate has not been pardoned or otherwise released from the resulting disabilities
