Job description

The County Charter Review Board is responsible for conducting a comprehensive study on the county charter and proposing changes and amendments to it.

Eligibility requirements

Candidates must be US citizens, residents and registered voters of Pierce County. County Council candidates must be residents and registered voters of their district for one year prior to filing. No County Council District boundary change shall disqualify the council member from 17 holding office during the remainder of the term.

Paperwork instructions: Submit paperwork to the County Auditor's office.
Filing requirements: Filing Fee = 1% of position salary. A candidate who lacks sufficient assets or income at the time of filing to pay the filing fee required shall submit with his or her declaration of candidacy a filing fee petition. The petition shall contain not less than a number of signatures of registered voters equal to the number of dollars of the filing fee. The signatures shall be of voters registered to vote within the jurisdiction of the office for which the candidate is filing.
