Job description
This County Court Judge is responsible for adjudicating cases in civil courts at the trial-level in over all domestic relations matters including but not limited to adoptions, domestic violence, divorce, child support, custody, alimony, time-sharing and related matters.
Eligibility requirements
Candidate must be at least 30 years of age. Must be a resident of the State for five (5) years before taking office; and a resident of the family court circuit in which he/she is a judge at the time he/she takes office and during his/her tenure. Must be in good standing of the West Virginia State Bar; Admitted to practice law in this state at least five (5) years prior to election.
