The County Road Commission Head is responsible for managing, laying out, and repairing roads within a county. This also includes determining tax levies and road management funds in addition to overseeing contracts, machinery, and laborers.

Eligibility Requirements
Candidate must reside in and be a qualified voter of the county. He or she must possess at least a high school diploma or GED and meet one of the following criteria: 1. Be licensed to practice engineering in TN, be a graduate of an accredited school of engineering, with at least 2 years of experience in highway construction or maintenance; or have a least 4 years' experience in supervisory capacity in highway construction or maintenance.

No filing fee. Petition signature requirement of 25 signatures.
