Eligibility Requirements
Only registered voters of the City shall be eligible to hold the office of City Commissioner or Mayor in accordance with the Texas Election Code as amended. He or she shall have paid all taxes due the City of San Benito and be free from debt to said City and shall have resided in the State of Texas twelve (12) months, must reside in the city during his or her term of office and in the City of San Benito six (6) months prior to filing deadline.
