Meet eligibility requirements
Must be at least 21 years of age // Must be a U.S. citizen // Must be a registered voter of the district // Must have resided in the city for one year preceding the election and in the district for six months preceding the election // Must not have been determined mentally incompetent by final judgment of a court // Must not have been convicted of a felony from which the candidate has not been pardoned or otherwise released from the resulting disabilities

- Filing fee of $0. Petition signature requirement of 0.5% of the entire vote cast for mayor in the preceding mayoral election, or twenty-five (25), whichever is greater (signatures only required without fee).
