The City Legislature is the municipality's governing body, responsible for voting on ordinances and policies, and often is in charge of hiring a city manager.
Must be a U.S. citizen // Must be at least 18 years of age // Must have resided in the state for 12 continuous months immediately preceding the filing date and in the district for six months immediately preceding the filing date // Must be a registered voter in the city // Must not have been determined mentally incompetent by final judgment of a court // Must not have been finally convicted of a felony from which the person has not been pardoned or otherwise released from the resulting disabilities // Must not be in arrears in the payment of taxes or other liabilities due the city
