About Missoula County Attorney/Public Administrator

The County Attorney is the top law enforcement official for the county and acts as the legal adviser to the Board of County Commissioners, all elected officials of the County, Fire Districts, Weed Districts and School Districts. The County Attorney is the public prosecutor and prosecutes all felonies in the county as well as other misdemeanor crimes which occur in the county and outside the city jurisdictions. The Public Administrator is appointed as a conservator to manage someone's financial affairs or as a guardian to make medical and life decisions for people who are unable to do so themselves for a variety of reasons such as brain injury, Alzheimer's, mental handicap, or being under the age of eighteen. The Public Administrator may also be appointed as personal representative in probate cases. Being appointed as conservator, guardian, or personal representative usually happens when there is no one else or there is a need for an impartial person.

About this guide

GoodParty.org is a nonpartisan organization that helps people run for local office without backing from a political party. This voter guide shows you every race and candidate in one place. Candidates who take the GoodParty.org Pledge get a heart-and-star badge next to their name and can edit their own profiles.

The GoodParty.org Pledge

GoodParty.org only works with candidates and elected officials who are independent of both major parties and the influence of big money. Their positions on individual issues may vary, but they are eligible to take the pledge if they commit to being:

Heart

Independent

Candidates run and serve as nonpartisan, independent, or third-party candidates, not as Democrats or Republicans. They agree to not accept endorsements from either the Republican or Democratic party.

Users

People First

Candidates get a majority of their funding from individuals, not from political action committees (PACs), lobbies, unions, or corporations. Once elected, they pledge to focus on solving the problems facing their constituents, not serving themselves or special interests.

Star

Anti-Corruption

Candidates and officials pledge to uphold the highest level of integrity by being open, transparent, and accountable about their donors, positions, and progress. They agree to only serve the people, and to use the best tools and practices to do so.
