Fun Fact
Fun Fact About Me:
I’m a big believer in family adventures—especially road trips and camping in the mountains. One of our family traditions is loading up the car (including our dog, Bailey) and heading off-grid to hike, fish, and cook over an open fire. No cell service, just family, fresh air, and faith—it’s where we reconnect and reset.
Past Experience
Why I’m Running for Syracuse City Council
As a husband, father of four, and lifelong resident of Syracuse, I am passionate about the future of our city. With over a decade of experience as a police officer, I have worked hand-in-hand with families, victims, and community leaders to tackle real challenges and protect what truly matters. This journey has instilled in me the importance of listening, leading with integrity, and standing firm on principles, even in the face of adversity.
I am currently pursuing a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling to continue my mission of service—this time by supporting first responders and families facing stress, trauma, and change. I understand the pressures families endure, and I am committed to ensuring that our city’s policies are grounded in common sense, fiscal responsibility, and a vision for the future.
I believe that Syracuse deserves leadership rooted in service rather than politics. My aim is to preserve the qualities that make Syracuse a remarkable place to raise a family while thoughtfully preparing for a bright and responsible future.
My Top Issues
Thriving local businesses
Local businesses bring jobs, strengthen our tax base, and create the character and charm that make Syracuse feel like home. I’m committed to listening to our business owners, advocating for smart policies, and promoting local-first strategies that keep our economy strong and our community connected.
Properly fund emergency services
Public safety is a fundamental responsibility of local government—and it starts with properly funding our emergency services. As a former police officer, I’ve seen firsthand what our first responders need to do their jobs well, and I understand the challenges they face when resources fall short.
I will advocate for responsible budgeting that ensures our police, fire, EMS, and dispatch teams have the training, equipment, staffing, and support they need to protect our community. This isn’t about spending more—it’s about spending wisely, prioritizing what truly keeps Syracuse safe and prepared.
A strong city stands behind its first responders. When we fund them properly, we invest in faster response times, safer neighborhoods, and greater peace of mind for every family in Syracuse.
Rent controlled units
I strongly oppose the continued push for high-density housing developments in our small city. Syracuse is a family-oriented community with limited space and valuable land that should be used wisely. Rather than crowding our neighborhoods with high-density apartments or multi-family units, we should focus on building single-family homes that attract young families, preserve our quality of life, and keep Syracuse a vibrant and family-centered place to live.
Single-family homes not only promote long-term community investment but also generate more property tax revenue per household than many high-density developments. They require fewer calls for service, place less strain on our roads, schools, and public safety departments, and foster stronger neighborhood bonds.
High-density housing increases demand on our already stretched police and fire services, risks overcrowding our schools, and can dramatically change the character of our community. I believe in smart, responsible growth that supports families, protects our infrastructure, and maintains the small-town charm that makes Syracuse feel like home.
