We want these businesses to be able to focus on their business instead of red tape and reporting. Defense / Veterans I will also work to engage with veterans and listen to their needs, ensuring that their voices are heard and their concerns are addressed. By doing so, we can create a system that truly supports our veterans. Economy I will fight to give small businesses more advantages to compete with big corporations. This includes advocating for reduced taxes and regulations for small businesses, making it easier for them to grow and succeed. Housing Provide Rent Stabilization in Nevada that caps rent increases. Education Pay our teachers more! So, we can attract and retain high quality teachers. Social Services Establish universal childcare for all Nevada parents. Education Increase funding for scholarships and medical institutions like UNLV and Nevada State University that will provide for more medical professionals in Nevada. Economy I will also push for policies that level the playing field, ensuring that small businesses are not unfairly pushed out by large corporations. By supporting small businesses, we can create a more vibrant and diverse economy. Education Invest in more public education infrastructure for trade schools. Housing I will propose legislation that bans or prevents big corporations from hoarding single-family homes. Defense / Veterans Support projects that expand housing for homeless Veterans. Healthcare Support mandatory nursing to patient ratios for safe and effective nursing. Healthcare Support mandatory risk pay for frontline healthcare workers. Housing Expand Nevadans ability to be able to organize and file complaints against landlords to ensure habitability. Abortion / Contraception Continue to ensure Abortion is secure in the Nevada Constitution. Healthcare Lobby for universal coverage from the federal government. Healthcare I will support the continued efforts to address social determinants of health in our communities. Government Reform Provide campaign matching mechanism for state elections up to a certain amount and limit campaign contributions. Taxes / Budget Raise the federal minimum wage to a livable wage of at least 17 dollars an hour and index it to inflation. Wages / Job Benefits Propose legislation for guaranteed, paid maternity leave for a minimum of 14 weeks. Housing I will fight for legislation that invests in new affordable homes and social housing units. Government Reform Ban corporate PAC contributions to any state held office. Defense / Veterans Incentivize and provide extra support for non-profits that provide veterans with mental health resources. Healthcare Continue to expand the public option of healthcare plans in the ACA and Medicaid. Social Services Provide Home and Community-Base Service Waivers by pushing forward bills like AB 338. Taxes / Budget Wealth tax on billionaires. Taxes / Budget Institute a corporate income tax in the state of Nevada. Education Invest in our educational support staff that will enable the best education environments. Social Services Support and Fund Caregiver programs that give more resources to families. Government Reform Reform our legislature to meet every year instead of every two years. Social Services Providing incentives and capital to invest in childcare providers to address shortages in childcare. Social Services I will FIGHT like hell to also make sure we adequately fund childcare, which has had a dramatic impact on the successes of our education system and the well-being of our children. Education Propose additional funding and resources to our underfunded schools.
