Criminal Justice / Public Safety I will represent all of the people of Allegany County. I will uphold the Constitution without favoritism or fear. And I will carry out the duties of this office with the unflinching resolve required when emotions are high, stakes are real, and lives are affected. That is how I understand the role of Sheriff. That is how I intend to serve. Criminal Justice / Public Safety Adjustments to the passive hiring model will greatly increase our chances of continuing to hire the best of the best. Rewarding proactive work will retain them. Our citizens deserve the highest level of protection possible. Criminal Justice / Public Safety Deputies will not spend large portions of time "waiting" for a call but will be actively patrolling and observant of every area of our county, including the far reaching and sometimes forgotten places. Criminal Justice / Public Safety Raising the standard of physical fitness required to be an active patrol deputy is an absolute necessity because it will increase the quality of services rendered and save the taxpayers money in the long run.
