Poway City Council - District 2

Top Issues

Infrastructure / Transportation Safer speed control and enforcement on neighborhood streets. Infrastructure / Transportation Recreation facility at The Farm: Proposal must meet the requirements of The Farm Specific Plan. Infrastructure / Transportation I propose the city host a community workshop to provide an update on active and completed development on Poway Road, and seek resident input on city-led enhancements identified in the Poway Road Specific Plan. Infrastructure / Transportation Safe pedestrian crossing at St. Andrews to Valle Verde Park. Criminal Justice / Public Safety Our firefighters and sheriff's deputies are the backbone of Poway’s remarkable safety. I will continue to support these resources and other smart policies and advocate for programs to ensure Poway remains the safest city in the county. Infrastructure / Transportation Our parks, recreation centers, and gathering places are where community happens. I've supported investments in the facilities that make Poway a remarkable place for residents to enjoy life to its fullest. Infrastructure / Transportation Well-maintained roads and reliable water infrastructure aren't luxuries. They're necessities I have-and will–prioritize on residents’ behalf. Infrastructure / Transportation Growth must respect Poway's character and serve our residents' needs, while protecting our treasured open space. I've demonstrated a willingness to say ‘no’ to projects that don't fit and ‘yes’ to development that benefits our community. I will continue to maintain that independent-minded approach to growth. Taxes / Budget Just as Poway families balance their budgets, so should city government. I believe in living within our means while maintaining healthy reserves for unexpected challenges. Economy As council member, I will advocate for improved applicant experience to streamline the permitting process. Infrastructure / Transportation Commercial space at The Farm: I will advocate for a resident advisory group so you can have direct input on future plans in the development.
