Environment / Energy We need to keep Arizona's groundwater for use by Arizonans, (and then only sparingly) and not lease the land to foreign entities. We should require all real estate developers to prove the long-term availability of water for projected land use. Housing We need to overcome "NIMBY-ism" and allow more affordable housing to be built. The housing industry has to make a shift in how resources like land are used. Education Curriculum should be developed by professional educators, not dictated by a few parents or micromanaged by politicians. I adamantly oppose vouchers, which divert money to unregulated programs, while undermining the free and balanced education needed for citizens of a democracy. Abortion / Contraception The government's role should be to protect the rights of citizens to make reproductive health care decisions for themselves, and the right to access the resources they need to make and accomplish those decisions. Infrastructure / Transportation I would favor legislation that honors the great job Arizona elections have done for us, and that makes voting accessible to as many qualified voters as possible. Flexible voting opportunities are critical to avoid disenfranchisement.
