My Top Issues

Infrastructure / Transportation

Mart growth balances our need for mixed density housing (high-density and single family), quality economic development, and necessary infrastructure, all while promoting and implementing resource conservation methods for new and existing developments.

Taxes / Budget

Tax increases affect all Layton residents, and in these uncertain times, families are stretched more than ever. Tax increases should be few and a last resort, after thorough analysis of the budget and opportunities to maximize other funding resources.

Environment / Energy

Parks and recreation help keep communities healthy, both physically and mentally. Layton residents should have access to parks within walking distance (.5 mi) of their neighborhood. Bettina has also worked to connect our city with trails, underpasses, and overpasses, so that Layton is fully walkable and accessible.

Criminal Justice / Public Safety

Bettina is a firm supporter of our public safety departments and wants to ensure they have the tools and support they need, physically and emotionally, to perform their job at the highest level. She wants to improve the relationships between the Departments and the communities in which they serve. It is imperative that we connect people and build bridges in order to create the safest environment for our public safety officers and all of Layton’s citizens.

Arts / Culture

Arts make a huge difference in the lives of children, families and the community. The Arts also bring an added boost to our economy and provide us with the beauty that we see around the city. Layton has the opportunity to support multiple conduits for Art in our city, including: theater, concerts, galleries, ballet, musicals, digital and physical art classes, book readings, and more. Together, let's "Elevate The Arts".
