Commication I was selected as teacher of.the year three times over the years. I also was selected as principal of the year in my district. I earned a special award given by the Alabama Department of Education for a professional a devised for partnering with parents to motivate struggling students. I was a local principal for 20 years. After retirement I served on the school board for 8 years. I served as president for 6 of those years. I stepped down from the school board and ran for city council in my district. I won with 78% of the vote. All of these responsibilities have prepared me to serve as mayor of Florence, Alabama.

Criminal Justice / Public Safety The rapid repair of potholes (48-hour fix after an initial blitz) improves road safety and reduces the risk of accidents. The first move through a partnership with Chief Holt will immediately identify individuals who speed, tailgate, run red lights, along with aggressive driving. The individuals will be ticketed and if needed, arrested. Funding I will create a relationship with our state leaders. We received what we are owed but never any extra. A town 60 miles away is constantly getting special appropriations. I want Florence to get some of that. It's through relationship. Jobs We have verylittle industry in Florence. My plan is to go get some. I have devised a plan to attend trade shows and sell Florence. I will wait for them to find us, I will go find them.
