Guns The US and Maine Constitutions are very clear in stating that we have the absolute right to bear arms for the purpose of defending ourselves - rights confirmed by the Heller and Bruen decisions. Taxes / Budget Maine has one of the highest tax burdens in the nation. This comes from a wide variety of new taxes on items and services enacted to feed the continuous Democrat spending frenzy. We need to shrink the State budget and reject majority budgets that are crippling our economy and our home budgets. Defense / Veterans When an American signs on the dotted line, dons a uniform and commits to potentially put themselves in harm's way, there are specific agreements made to care for them at the end of their service. These are in exchange for the sacrificies they endure while they serve. Chad is a veteran, is married to a veteran, is the son of a veteran and has kids who are veterans. Nobody else in the Maine legislature cares more for veteran welfare. Criminal Justice / Public Safety With a seventeen year background in law enforcement in both Piscataquis and Penobscot Counties, Chad has a strong understanding of the unique criminal justice problems facing rural Maine. Environment / Energy High energy prices affect everything from the workplace to the dinner table. Chad has consistently fought for lower energy prices by introducing and sponsoring common sense legislation to repeal solar subsidies, remove hydroelectric production caps and disengaging our state from the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative.
