Top Issues

Wages / Job Benefits Good-paying jobs as the baseline, not a bonus. If a project is coming to our District, the County should be pushing for strong wages, career pathways, and local hiring. Infrastructure / Transportation In the near term, I want smarter routes, better frequency, and transit planning that reflects how people actually live and work here. Infrastructure / Transportation I support moving Southern Nevada toward real mass transit solutions, including light rail as part of long-term planning. Economy Streamline permitting and licensing so small businesses aren’t waiting months to open their doors. Government Reform Maximum transparency in decision-making, including proactive posting of key documents and plain-language summaries. Social Services Expanded senior programming that supports health, connection, and independence. Infrastructure / Transportation Neighborhood-first planning, so development doesn’t swallow the things that make our communities livable—like traffic flow, shade, walkability, and local access to services. Economy Transitional training for workers changing fields or re-entering the workforce. Economy Partnerships with unions, community colleges, training providers, and employers so we build career pipelines, not just programs that look good on paper. Education More after-school activities, sports, arts, and structured programs that keep kids engaged. Government Reform Regular town halls across the District, scheduled at accessible times and locations, with real Q&A—not scripted appearances. Economy Vocational placement services that connect training directly to real employers, not just certificates. Infrastructure / Transportation I want Clark County to invest in “third spaces” — the community places that aren’t home or work, but where people can exist without needing to spend money just to be there. Government Reform No inside perks and no special treatment for donors, developers, or political friends. Government Reform Receipts on everything—clear explanations for votes, public access to information, and a paper trail residents can actually follow. Environment / Energy Southern Nevada cannot pretend water is an unlimited resource. “Water smart” means we plan like adults: we build responsibly, we conserve, and we stop approving growth patterns that create long-term strain. Environment / Energy Keep parks clean, well-lit, and cared for—because public spaces should feel public.
