Healthcare Invest in medical research. Supporting research that helps doctors treat patients better and saves lives is one of the most important things Congress can do — and Clint will make sure it stays a priority. Education Keep public dollars in public schools. Iowa’s school voucher program has reduced accountability on tax dollars and hurt public schools. Clint will work to make sure public money stays in public schools. Education Support and retain great teachers. Teachers are our most important educational resource. Rural and low-income schools are facing real teacher shortages. Clint will support recruitment and retention programs that get great teachers into the classrooms that need them most — and keep them there. Environment / Energy Protect our waterways and reduce flooding. Support innovative conservation practices and easement programs that restore floodplains, maintain healthy waterways, and protect soil — naturally reducing flood risk and improving water quality for everyone downstream. Drug Policy Lower prescription drug prices. Seniors and families shouldn't have to choose between their medications and other basic needs. Clint will fight to expand Medicare's ability to negotiate drug prices and bring costs down. Housing Lower housing costs. Build more affordable housing, support programs to fix up existing homes, and expand down payment assistance so more Iowans can buy their first home. Healthcare Create an affordable public option. Everyone should be able to get health coverage — period. Clint will advocate for an affordable public option and work toward the goal of universal coverage so no one falls through the cracks. Economy Lower grocery bills. Strengthen local food systems, break up the monopolies driving up food prices, and expand programs that help families access healthy, locally grown food they can actually afford. Education Expand career and technical education. Strengthen funding and incentives for certificate programs, two-year degrees, and apprenticeships so more Iowans have access to quality career training close to home. Economy Support farmers who take care of the land. Expand conservation funding and preserve USDA staffing so that farmers who implement practices that protect soil and water have real financial support and technical help to do it right. Education Invest in early childhood education. Research is clear: kids who are reading and doing math at grade level by 3rd grade are far more likely to succeed long-term**. Clint will push for strong investments in early childhood education and student well-being so every child starts with a solid foundation. Healthcare Keep rural hospitals and clinics open. Too many rural communities are losing their only hospital or clinic. Clint will push for the investments needed to keep those doors open and the lights on. Healthcare Make sure we have enough doctors and nurses. A hospital doesn't do much good without the people to staff it. Clint will work to address the healthcare worker shortage, especially in rural areas. Wages / Job Benefits Good union jobs. Clint will fight to pass the PRO Act, which protects your right to join a union and bargain for better pay and benefits. Strong unions mean stronger paychecks for everyone. Government Reform I will fight to pass a constitutional amendment to overturn Citizens United and give our democracy back to the people. Government Reform I will place all individual stocks, bonds, and other investment assets into a qualified blind trust while serving in Congress, and I will never place a bet on a prediction market. Economy Keep Iowa farmland in Iowa hands. Iowa's farmland belongs in the hands of Iowa farmers — not out-of-state investors or foreign buyers. Clint will support beginning farmer loans and technical assistance programs that give the next generation of family farmers a real shot at owning the land they work. Economy Invest in rural Iowa to build a culture of innovation. Northeast Iowa's communities are stronger when they work together. Clint will push for regional cooperation and investment — bringing in resources for broadband, energy, hospitals, and utilities so that every corner of the district has what it needs to grow and thrive. Economy A fair deal for family farmers. Pass a new Farm Bill that gives family farmers a real safety net — so you're not one bad harvest away from losing everything. And one that supports farmers in being good stewards of the land for generations to come. Economy End chaotic, across-the-board tariffs. The administration’s ever-changing tariff policies are raising prices at the store, hurting farm exports, and making it hard for businesses to hire. Clint will work to fix that. Healthcare Lower health care costs. Restore tax credits that make insurance premiums affordable, push for a public health care option, work toward universal coverage, protect Medicare and Medicaid, and expand Medicare's ability to negotiate lower drug prices. Healthcare Protect Medicare and Medicaid. Clint will fight any cuts to Medicare and work to restore Medicaid funding so tens of thousands of Iowans don't lose their coverage. Economy Stop the tariff-driven price hikes. The administration's chaotic across-the-board tariffs are driving up the cost of everyday goods. Clint will fight to rein them in and bring some stability back. Environment / Energy Lower energy costs. Restore investments in cheaper, cleaner energy, cut red tape to get it built faster, and make sure big tech data centers aren't driving up everyone else's electric bills. Economy Help for small business owners. Make it easier for people with a good idea to get a loan and get started — right here in Iowa, not somewhere else.
