Criminal Justice / Public Safety Our Law Enforcement Officers are our friends, neighbors, and the blue line that serves and protects us all. Rising crime is threatening the safety of Oregon communities and our families. I support law enforcement, accountability for repeat offenders, and restoring consequences that keep our kids and communities safe. Environment / Energy Catastrophic wildfires are ever-increasing in Oregon and across the western states. I have and will continue to lead the state to address the desperate need for active forest management, fuel reduction, and working with landowners to better protect homes and communities. These basic actions we continue to fight for will result in growing good, rural jobs, locally sourced timber for housing production and manufacturing, and provide for healthier, safer communities. As your United States Senator, I will always fight to make sure federal regulations prioritize the needs and safety of the people who actually live here in Oregon, and not political extremists. Housing Oregon continues to shell out millions of dollars in their attempt to address the homeless crisis, only for the homeless populations to increase in Portland and across Oregon. Our once beautiful City of Roses continues to be a national headline of despair, with businesses and families shutting down and leaving. We need drug and mental health treatment that works, and I have and will continue to fight for treatment and accountability, as well as an end to permanent street camping. Economy Oregon families are being priced out of their own state, and businesses are moving across state lines. We need common-sense solutions that incentivize job growth in our communities, help make homes more affordable, and bring back the American Dream for Oregonians.
