My Top Issues
Attracting and retaining businesses
Jayden is focused on key issues like economic development, creating a Renewable Energy Task Force to combat climate change, and developing tourism initiatives that highlight Stockbridge’s rich history in arts, sports, entertainment, and the King Family legacy. Additionally, we aim to conduct a disparity study for resource allocation, build a collaborative workforce, and enhance the Stockbridge Welcome and Business Center as a hub for small businesses.
Increasing affordable housing options
As mayor, I will partner with state, federal, and banking organizations to create a strategic housing plan for Stockbridge, focusing on increasing housing options for seniors, college students, veterans, families, and the local workforce. We will conduct a commercial and land use assessment to identify opportunities for vacant land, ensuring affordable, accessible, and equitable housing for all, and working together to build a stronger, more vibrant community.
Fund youth mentorship and leadership programs
Supporting Youth and the Arts: I will promote and showcase art and creativity throughout Stockbridge, creating opportunities for middle and high school students, as well as post-graduates. Additionally, I plan to develop an Educational Innovation partnership with the Board of Education and other key community stakeholders to enhance learning and creative growth.
