My Top Issues
Education
To keep families in Columbus, and to support growth and small business, we need to support the kids by taking care of what CCS can't take care of before and after school: pre-K, childcare, and restorative practices to help kids unlearn trauma.
Housing
We need more housing, and we need it to come with more tenant protections and deeper affordability. At the same time, we need to keep the pressure up to get bad actors who ruin lives out of the marketplace (no more Colonial Villages or Sawyer Towers!). We also need to help people buy their own homes and start housing co-ops to have more stability and opportunity to make their dreams happen.
Infrastructure / Transportation
We need the bus to come on time, more often, during more hours. We also need more sidewalks and bike paths. We passed LinkUS: that's historic. Let's keep going and make sure those dollars are spent right.
Wages / Job Benefits
We need to double down on our commitment to bringing union jobs to Columbus. Unions mean better wages, more benefits, and safer working conditions for Columbus residents. These jobs are critical for families to make it into the middle class. As a city, this should be a top priority.
