Criminal Justice / Public Safety As Sheriff, I will seek the establishment of a specialized Cybercrime Investigator within the department—an officer with advanced technical expertise and federal deputization to pursue offenders across jurisdictions. This role will focus on protecting residents from digital threats, fraud, exploitation, and holding cybercriminals accountable. We will also harness AI responsibly to enhance crime prevention, optimize patrol deployment, and improve transparency. Technology must serve the public good—never infringe on rights or replace human judgment. Every investment will be measured by its impact on safety, freedom, and fiscal responsibility. We will dismantle criminal networks, hold offenders accountable, and invest in education, early intervention, our deputies, and community partnerships to stop crime before it starts. Public safety is a shared responsibility. By working with other law enforcement agencies, schools, nonprofits, and faith-based organizations, we can address the root causes of crime and build a safer, more resilient Davis County.
