Taxes / Budget We are a 50 year old, flood- prone city and must continue flood mitigation efforts and maintain our infrastructure so water pipes do not burst in neighbors’ yards. I will fight to invest every dime of tax revenue in assets for residents versus the size of our city government. This includes restoring NASA Road 1 to its past glory. Criminal Justice / Public Safety To keep Nassau Bay safe for families, our first responders deserve state of the art equipment, tools, and training. Our Fire Department and Ambulance Service need a new ladder truck and ambulance. I will find the resources to invest in this equipment without raising taxes. Housing Urban planners are working to change the City’s character by adding high-density apartments. I will continue fighting to preserve our suburban charm, protect our churches from urbanization and proposed new zoning laws, enforce codes, and increase ordinances to deter short-term rentals so citizens do not have mini hotels next to their homes.
