Fun Fact
A fun fact about you, Shaena Garberich, could be:
"I believe so strongly in community that I even put positive affirmations on the back of my campaign signs—so if someone steals one, at least they leave with a little hope."
Past Experience
“I’m running for City Council because I believe every voice matters and every person deserves to feel seen, heard, and valued in the place they call home. I want to build a Shelton where unity, compassion, and real change are more than just ideas—they’re our way of life.”
My Top Issues
Invest in mental health resources
I believe that true community strength starts with the health and well-being of every individual. I support affordable and accessible healthcare, expanded mental health services, and community-based programs that empower people to live healthier lives through education and local partnerships.
Increasing affordable housing options
I support inclusive zoning policies and increasing affordable housing options to ensure everyone has a safe and stable place to live. I gave testimony in support of House Bill 2319 (2024) because it addresses systemic barriers in housing, promotes fairness in tenant screening, and helps prevent discrimination, moving us toward a more just and inclusive housing market in Washington State.
Addressing substance abuse and mental health issues
Public safety means more than just policing—it means addressing the root causes of harm in our communities. I support investing in substance abuse treatment and mental health services as essential strategies to create safer, healthier neighborhoods for everyone.
