Environment / Energy The years I have spent living these real world problems is why I can effectively serve the wide range of natural resource-dependent jobs and lifestyles in House District 15. Taxes / Budget I’ll continue working to reduce taxes and cut wasteful spending, so hardworking Oregonians can afford gas, groceries, and other essentials. We need fiscally responsible leaders who have run businesses to lend a voice to lawmaking. This is my goal in the Oregon Legislature. Criminal Justice / Public Safety We need to address the lack of funds allocated toward the Oregon State Police by reinvesting in public safety. I’ll also work to amend and fix Measure 110, which failed to live up to its promise to offer more addiction treatment, and is instead resulting in a tragic increase in overdose deaths and homelessness. Infrastructure / Transportation The movement of people and goods throughout the state is crucial to Oregon’s economy, but our transportation system is facing significant challenges. As the owner of Boshart Trucking and co-vice chair of the Joint Transportation Committee, I understand these challenges firsthand. We need lawmakers who understand the importance of managing congestion and adding capacity while ensuring state agencies spend our hard-earned transportation taxes where they belong — on our state highways, roads, and bridges. Whether it’s cap and trade or gas car bans, I’ll continue standing up against harmful policies that would devastate our communities. Education Our schools are failing our kids. Oregon’s public education system has ranked in the bottom five in the nation and has consistently been leaving children behind. That’s why I support a parent’s right to decide what educational option is best for their children. In addition to supporting school choice for every Oregon student, I have and will continue supporting investments in career and technical education that will provide opportunities to succeed by giving students hands-on skills our economy desperately needs.
