Criminal Justice / Public Safety The safety and security of Jersey Village is paramount. Knowing that we have some of the best first responders protecting our community is one of the most compelling reasons to live in Jersey Village. I will always support our Police, Fire, and EMS, and I am committed to making sure they have the necessary equipment and resources to deliver the exceptional level of service we have all come to expect. First Responders are a key component of what makes Jersey Village so great. Taxes / Budget As a City, we need to work together to pursue a measured approach to government spending and borrowing. That doesn't mean being cheap: It means spending smart - to make every tax dollar count, and get the most value out of our expenditures. We need to work hard to eliminate debt, maintain reserves, and avoid unduly burdening the taxpayers. To do this, we must actively promote economic development initiatives which will both improve the overall tax base and benefit our community. Infrastructure / Transportation There are few things more important to Jersey Village than the critical infrastructure - roads, water & sewer systems, and municipal facilities - on which we all rely. And, like an iceberg, it's often those parts you don't see or rarely think about that may be most critical. We need to continue our focus on systematically updating and replacing those systems and facilities. A comprehensive long-term plan needs to address both the City's current needs and the requirements we can anticipate well into the future.
