Eligibility Requirements

Candidate must be a registered voter and resident of the township. Candidate must have attained the certification of a level three assessor-appraiser under IC 6-1.1-35.5 before taking office.

Filing Requirements

No filing fee. No signature requirement for Democratic, Republican, or Libertarian Candidates. However, candidate must file a declaration of candidacy and statement of economic interest (CAN-12) with the county election board. For Independent and minor party candidates signature requirement is 2% of the total votes cast for secretary of state at the last election held for that office in the district the candidate seeks to represent.
